the city sued the preist back because they wanted him to pay for the trial and all the other city expenses (it was like 2 million it think) (he wanted a re-election or smthg)...

this priest took the major to trial for vetoing a bill that takes same sex/ non married couples rights away
he lost and now hes protesting outside city hall
and hes going to take this case to the Texas supreme court
